Our Mission Statement

Women Against Violence is a 501 ( c ) (3) violence prevention organization that provides workshops, symposiums, crisis counseling, support groups and other related services and events that educate and empower women and their families in New York City to stop the cycle of violence, and stay free of violence and abuse.

Program Objectives

To reach out to women of all ages, cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
To educate the community about the epidemic of violence against women, in New York City, the United States and throughout the world.
To educate women and men about the different types of abuse, the signs, symptoms and how to get help.
To empower women so that they can avoid abusive and violent relationships.
To help stop the cycle of violence by working with children who have been exposed to violence or may be at risk of violent behavior. This includes programs for parents of children with behavioralissues.
To offer crisis counseling to women who have been victims of abuse, violence, rape, or sexual assault.
To be a resource for women who have been abused, and to offer referrals for those services which we are not able to provide.
